For the past four years, thanks to the collaboration with the Municipality of Sestriere, the Volunteer Unit of the Italian National Military Health Association (NV ANSMI) has been providing on-site assistance and first aid services in the Monterotta area during both the winter and summer seasons, on weekends and public holidays.

Search and Rescue Dog Units
The volunteers operate within the Civil Protection framework and are specialized in search and rescue operations, as well as emergency support.
In Monterotta they provide assistance in case of:
- falls or injuries
- medical emergencies
- lost persons
- adverse weather conditions
- dangerous situations along the trails

Numbered Trails and Rapid Assistance
Along the cross-country skiing and snowshoe trails, signposts with progressive numbering and an emergency contact number have been installed.
This system allows visitors to communicate their exact location quickly and efficiently in case of need.

Cardio-Protected Area – Les Chalmettes Mountain Hut
The Les Chalmettes Mountain Hut is a cardio-protected area equipped with an AED (Automated External Defibrillator), donated by the Municipality of Sestriere and registered on the national DAEdove app.
